Superior Vision Announces Appointment Focused on Medical Management Program
LINTHICUM, MD, (May 16, 2017) – Superior Vision Corporation (“Superior Vision”), a leader in managed vision care, today announced that Mark C. Ruchman, M.D. has joined the company as Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Ruchman will have overall responsibility for medical policy including utilization management, quality improvement, credentialing, technology assessment, protocol development, accreditation standards and clinical guidelines. Dr. Ruchman will supervise Superior Vision medical directors and represent the company to health plan medical directors and leaders of the larger medical community. Prior to Superior Vision, he was National Medical Director for Vision for Envolve Benefit Options/Centene Corporation. He has over thirty years of experience in eye care medical management.
Dr. Ruchman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. He is a recipient of the Honor Award of the American Academy of Ophthalmology in recognition of his contributions to medical education.
Dr. Ruchman received his BA from Williams College, magna cum laude where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He graduated from the Yale University School of Medicine and completed both his ophthalmology residency and fellowship in ophthalmic plastic surgery and orbital disease at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. He is a board member of The International Eye Foundation and a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Yale Alumni in Medicine.

Dr. Ruchman will continue to maintain his private medical practice in Southbury, Connecticut.
